Dear Awaken Church,
As many of you know, our third child, Beckett Jude Diewald, was born on July 22. After a couple of weeks of close monitoring due to Liz’s high-risk pregnancy, the doctors decided it would be best for him to come early. He’s tiny—just over four pounds—but after a five-day stay in the NICU, he’s on the right track.
Even in the midst of these unexpected weeks, it has been remarkable to see God’s sovereign kindness on display. The doctors, nurses, and staff at Bellevue were incredible. We are thankful to have access to such exceptional care close to home. Both of our families graciously dropped everything to drive up from Pennsylvania, and our Awaken church family has been incredibly supportive and overwhelmingly generous.
Awaken Church, thank you. Your kindness, support, texts, calls, emails, cards, gifts, gift cards, diapers, wipes, baby clothes, and blankets have meant more to us than we can adequately express. These tangible expressions of Christ’s love are a beautiful reminder that the community we share is truly uncommon and sincere.
Because Beckett arrived so early, we still have a little bit of a road ahead before he is ready to be out and about. We look forward to being back together with all of you as soon as we can.
Thank you for praying for us, walking with us, and caring for our family so well. We thank God for the grace of Christian community and for the unique fellowship we share together in His Son.
God bless you, and thank you,
Eric, Liz, Ollie, Addi & Beckett
